World Education Thailand currently focuses on meeting the educational needs of displaced persons from Myanmar (Burma) who are living near the Thailand-Myanmar border. The Project for Local Empowerment (PLE) supports teacher training, curriculum development, youth education, and policy work, and continues the work done under the SHIELD project. To complement PLE, World Education is currently supporting the accreditation and recognition process under the Pathways to Accredited Centers of Education (PACE) project.
Past projects include the COPE project which trained teachers and community members on how to address the psychosocial needs of children who experienced trauma. The IMPACT project created a child protection support system in migrant communities in Tak province and the QUEST project worked to increase the ability and capacity of teachers in refugee camps.
